Don Reed Simmons is the president of the International Sound Therapy Association (ISTA) a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the Power of Sounds. A visionary consultant, teacher and public speaker, Simmons helps individuals and businesses find their balance and Vision at home and at work. For ISTA, Simmons is the creator of the Outreach program; “GB2 ~ Gongs, Bells and Bowls” and creator of “Sacred Sound Ministry”, a program specifically designed for using Sound as Service. He also trains practitioners on Himalayan Bowls, Crystal Bowls, Shamanic drumming and meditation. He has produced 9 meditation CD’s including ISTA’S own, “The Power of Sounds.”
During the 2016 Cymatics Conference in Atlanta, Simmons presented on “Changing the Vibration of your Libation” to an overwhelming success. This was a unique approach to understanding the Power of Sounds by using a tuning fork to alter the taste of what ever you were drinking. Simmons is currently preparing for an East Coast “SONIC TONIC™ Tour” where he will demonstrate the Power of Sounds in a way you can actually taste.
Simmons has studied with the world renown global spiritual leader, Zen Monk and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Thich Nhat Hanh; with Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, creator of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society; and with Brian Weiss, M.D., author of “Many Lives, Many Masters.” Simmons is continuing his education in the Taoist tradition of the 5 Elements and the 5 Healths for harmony and longevity in life.
As an accomplished film-maker and writer, Simmons lectures extensively on sound therapy and the process of health, harmony and peace. Having worked as a crisis counselor in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Honolulu, Simmons uses his skills of Intuition to help thousands of clients throughout the world helping create a more Mindful approach to business, living and healing. Simmons has been a meditation teacher since 1997 and a lifelong practitioner of Mindfulness as a Path to Peace.
